A creamy and satisfying beef pasta dish, perfect for busy evenings.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 340g Farfalle pasta
  • 450g ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt and/or pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 240ml milk (whole or 2%)
  • 100g shredded mozzarella
  • 50g grated parmesan
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the Farfalle pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Before draining the pasta, reserve about 120ml (1/2 cup) of the pasta water. Drain the pasta and set aside.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 7 to 8 minutes until browned.
  4. Add the chopped onion and garlic. Cook for about 3 minutes until the onion is softened. Season with Italian seasoning, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Add 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for one minute until fragrant.
  6. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of flour over the mixture and stir for 2 to 3 minutes to form a roux.
  7. Slowly pour in 240ml of milk while whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Let the mixture simmer for 3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  8. Reduce the heat and stir in the mozzarella and parmesan until the cheese is melted and the sauce becomes creamy.
  9. Add the cooked pasta and beef mixture back into the skillet. Mix everything well.
  10. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
  11. Serve the dish in bowls, garnished with freshly chopped parsley and additional parmesan. Enjoy immediately!

Notes

For a creamier sauce, you can add a splash of cream or cream cheese before adding the cheese.
