Quick and delicious Cheesy Beef Street Tacos with a creamy cheese sauce and marinated beef.

Ingredients

  • 450 g Flanksteak or Rocksteak
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 60 g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 60 ml sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 4 small wheat tortillas
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Pat the steak dry and season each side generously with taco seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Drizzle the steak with lime juice and let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the steak for 3–4 minutes on each side until desired doneness is reached.
  5. Remove the meat from the skillet and let it rest for at least 5 minutes.
  6. Slice the meat thinly against the grain.
  7. In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and lime juice.
  8. Stir the mixture until smooth and creamy.
  9. Heat each tortilla in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side.
  10. Place the sliced meat in the center of each tortilla.
  11. Drizzle the meat with the cheese sauce.
  12. Top the tacos with fresh cilantro and serve immediately.

Notes

If you prefer a spicy kick, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper to the cheese sauce.
